The Official European Kevin Sorbo Fanclub was brought into being in May 1998 by Hannelore Müller, Hamburg, and is officially endorsed by Kevin Sorbo since then.

Hannelore headed the club with the support of the first team, Helga, Susanne, Birgit D., Birgit K., Nadine and Sabrina, which has changed through the years.

During a visit to the set of ‚Hercules‘ in New Zealand, in summer 1999, Hannelore succeeded in winning Kevin’s trust, and she headed the club for more than ten years with great commitment.

She loved to provide the fans and club members again and again with news from and about Kevin, or to surprise them with activities like auctions or quizzes. And everyone who once participated in one of the club meetings that were offered about every two years by Hannelore, either in Hamburg or in another beautiful place in Germany, for example in Bergen at the Chiemsee, will cherish the memories of that.

Not a few fans enjoyed their first autograph from Kevin, as Hannelore forwarded the queries for autographs and the fan letters to Kevin.

Highlights in the work of the club were encounters with Kevin, of course, when his time allowed, participating at a convention in Europe. Each time we were enthused about how Kevin appreciates his fans and how friendly and interested he is in his dealings with them, even if he has to fight jetlag or other difficulties. We admired his ability to attune within seconds, during writing autographs or photo sessions, to his particular visitor in question, and to relieve even the most excited fan from anxiety by a smile or an encouraging word.

As an absolute highlight in the life of the club Hannelore managed a great celebration for 10 years of club existence, during the FedCon 2008 in Bonn, together with Kevin, when Kevin surprised us with a nice birthday serenade.

You heard right ... Kevin isn’t only a wonderful and versatile actor, he can also sing and play the guitar.
The fans also had the opportunity to give presents to Kevin, which he accepted amicably with an incomparable charm; they could ask questions, to which he always replied patiently and very candidly. It is always exciting and fascinating to hear him talk about his work or his projects. Those meetings are precious memories for all fans who could take part in them, and Hannelore and Karl, her husband, also assured that they remained vivid with the help of videos and photos.

When Hannelore retired from club work at the end of 2008, to our sorrow (but with our full understanding), to have more time for her family and her small grandchildren, the three of us – Lindsey, Heidi and Anne – were very glad that Kevin assigned the trust he had in Hannelore to us and agreed to the continuing of the club, led by a „triumvirate“, consisting of longstanding club members. So we divided Hannelore’s many tasks between us and decided to make all the important decisions together.

Lindsey in England fulfills the task of the club leader – she represents the club externally, keeps in touch with Kevin, among other things, and with movie companies and directors and corresponds with our English speaking fans.

Heidi in Berlin watches over the club account, is responsible for most of the translations for our quarterly published Newsletter and its distribution (the newsletter is edited in German and English) and serves as ‚liaison officer‘ for the daily email correspondence of our German/English speaking team.

Anne near Munich is our indispensable webmaster, she designs and ministers the club’s homepage www.kevin-sorbo.com and spends many weekends with the layout for the newsletter.
With the newsletters we keep our members informed about Kevin’s activities, about his movies, his golf tournaments for charity, his new production company, gorgeous pictures and some personal words from Kevin as well.
The yearly edition of the club calendar with great Kevin pictures allows our members to integrate Kevin into their daily lives.

Our work for the club doesn’t end with the designing of the newsletters, the publishing and the constant maintenance of the homepage.
Behind the scenes we work hard, daily, besides the job that each of us has to fulfill. But the regularly friendly contact with Kevin, in which he provides us with news and gorgeous pictures for the homepage and the newsletter, is our reward for everything.

During our first year as the new team we have already had the great pleasure of meeting Kevin in October 2009 during the FACTS convention in Ghent/Belgium, and to present him personally with the yearly birthday book with greetings from fans.

As Kevin has a heart as wide as „Hercules“ and is, besides his extensive work, spokesperson for A World Fit For Kids (http://www.worldfitforkids.org ) and for the After School Alliance (http://www.afterschoolalliance.org ), we have been supporting him since 2009 according to his wish by gathering donations for one of his charity organisations, instead of a birthday present for him.

To our great pleasure we have also welcomed several new members to the club in our first club year.
Meanwhile fans from England, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Greece, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and the USA are represented by the club.
